The Need

The New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter supports the greater New Orleans area, where homelessness has long been a critical issue, worsened by natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.

By 2023, family homelessness was still on the rise:

• homelessness in New Orleans and Jefferson Parish increased by 15%
• family homelessness increased by 62% compared to 2022.
